Yıldız Bozkurt


Yıldız Bozkurt Özcan, who graduated from Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration with honor degree, first started her career at Akbank, while continuing her career, she also completed the Banking Master’s Program at Marmara University. 

Later, while continuing her professional career in Corporate Banking at Abn-Amro, she applied to the graduate scholarship program given by the British Government. She won this scholarship and went to England to pursue an academic career. She received her master’s degree on International Banking and Finance at Southampton University. After completing her master’s program, she received a scholarship from City University London and continued her doctoral program, but she decided to quit her academic life and returned to Turkey. Returning to her banking career, she worked as Branch Manager at Interbank and later moved to Akbank Head Office as Group Manager to establish the Commercial Banking Department and was later appointed as the Department Head. Then she moved to ABN AMRO Bank again as an Executive Vice President to set up commercial banking department. After ABN Amro was being sold to Royal Bank of Scotland, she carried Executive Vice President role for Commercial, Corporate and Investment Banking departments at the same time.

After having a total of 25 years of experience in Corporate and Commercial Banking, she decided to move to the real sector in 2013 and started to provide consultancy services to many domestic and foreign construction companies on project financing at CEO level, then stepped into the maritime sector in 2015 and started to work as Group CFO at Med Marine Holding.

Yıldız Bozkurt Özcan is currently holding the position of General Manager at Med Marine Holding. She is also one of the founding members of the Istanbul branch of the Professional Women Network and has been on the Board of Directors of Istanbul PWN since 2013. She is the Co-President as well as the Member of the Board of Directors responsible for corporate membership.
